CINCINNATI — 1. Let’s just call it like it is: this team is inconsistent. Too inconsistent to make the playoffs? I don’t know. But five turnovers in their seven wins and 14 in their five losses says a lot.
2. Joe Burrow now has 14 interceptions on the season. For as good as he is, I’m getting Andy Dalton vibes from him right now. Four straight home games with at least one interception and three of those games he’s thrown multiple picks. He’s too good to be throwing interceptions every time he takes the field at Paul Brown Stadium.
3. Ja’Marr Chase through his first seven games: 35 rec., 754 yds, 6 TD
Last five games: 20 rec., 204 yds, 2 TD.
And that’s 20 receptions on 39 targets including a whole bunch of drops. Is he turning into a bust? He’s certainly not the front runner for offensive rookie of the year, at least he shouldn’t be. Plays he was making so effortlessly in the first seven games of the season have been nowhere to be found over the last five games.
4. Good lord the offensive line! Six sacks and 10 quarterback hits. It doesn’t matter if two starters were missing. Whichever five guys are starting up front must PROTECT. THE. FRANCHISE.
5. And if you’re Joe Burrow, what are you doing at the bottom of the pile trying to recover a fumble?! You’re not a linebacker!!!
